Privacy Policy

Effective July 31, 2026

Shelfery ("Shelfery", "we", "us") is a product of Devonshire Digital LLC. It helps households track what food they have, where it's stored, and when it expires. This policy explains what data we collect through the Shelfery app, why we collect it, and how you can control it.

What we collect

  • Account information — your name, email address, and profile photo, provided either directly or through a social sign-in provider (Google, and eventually Apple/Facebook) via our authentication provider, Clerk.
  • Household data — the inventory items, storage locations, categories, and shopping lists you and the people you invite to your household enter into the app.
  • Product photos and barcodes — images or barcode scans you submit so the app can identify a product using AI.
  • Basic usage data — standard server and hosting logs (e.g. request timestamps, error logs) generated by our hosting provider, Vercel.

Google user data

If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from your Google account, and use them solely to create and manage your Shelfery account and identify you to your household. We don't request access to any other Google data (your Gmail, Drive, contacts, etc.), and we don't share the data we do receive with anyone beyond the service providers listed below that are necessary to run the app. We don't use it for advertising, and we don't sell it.

How we use it

  • To operate the core app — storing and syncing your household's inventory across the people you invite.
  • To identify products from a photo or barcode using an AI model.
  • To authenticate you and keep your account secure.
  • To diagnose bugs and keep the app running reliably.

We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.

Who we share it with

We use a small number of service providers to run Shelfery, each of which processes data on our behalf under their own security and privacy commitments:

  • Clerk — authentication and account management.
  • Supabase — database hosting for your household's data.
  • Anthropic — processes product photos/barcodes you submit to identify items.
  • Vercel — application hosting.

We don't share your data with anyone else, except where required by law.

Data retention and deletion

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by emailing us at help@shelfery.app.

Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you at any time by contacting us at the email below.

Children

Shelfery is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit, and access to your household's data is restricted to accounts you've invited, enforced by database-level access policies.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the effective date above.
